Joanie shuffled into the kitchen, her eyes a quarter opened, and her right hand held out. She said, “I need a stiff cuppa coffee.”

Bjorn said, “Well, dearest. Here’s the cup and it is pretty stiff. Ceramic by my estimate. Love the ‘All You Need is Love’ design. If the cup weren’t stiff, you couldn’t pour anything into it. Doesn’t get any stiffer than that.”

“No, I think you missed the part where I said, ‘of coffee’.”

“Oh, I heard you all right, but coffee is such a powerful stimulant that just one cup could set your heart racing. Been known to link to immediate heart failure and stroke. Studies are coming out more and more about the risks of drinking morning coffee. Lots of nasty caffeine with very little upside. When you try to go without it for a few days, you get a massive headache. More caffeine than tea. More than caffeinated soda. More than…”

“Already had yours?” Joanie asked.

“Two hours ago, why do you ask?”
