On the world’s most popular job review site, the following exchange was made.
Stacey S. “If you ever get an opportunity to interview with Food King Grocery HR, run run run. Run as far as you can from this place. They are judgmental, conceited, and so full of themselves, it makes me sick to even think about it. They are more concerned about external appearances than they are about who a person is. So, if you decide to change the color of your hair or get a few tatts, steer away from this place.
I knew right away from my first contact with the Director of HR that he had a thing against my bright green hair, and it wasn’t a good thing. Who was he to judge a person based on the color of their hair?
Or maybe it was my tattoos or my face piercings? In fact, who is anyone to judge someone else based on those external things? They should be asking if I can do the job or not. I could go on but I won’t.
He didn’t even ask me a single question before he said the interview was over. So, be forewarned: if they hire you, you’re on your own, that is, if you make it past the first question.”
Official company response: “Thank you for the opportunity to clear the air, Miss S, about our hiring procedures. I recall your interview quite well. I can assure you our rejection of you had nothing to do with hair color or tattoos. We, in fact, are progressive in our views and overlook these external features to the more important aspects of a person, namely personality.
For example, when you demanded – demanded, not requested – monthly paid mental health days, split-day work hours to accommodate your social life, and a pet sitting allowance – and all this before I asked a single question – I determined that you were probably not a good fit for our company. While we do accommodate our staff in emergency situations, we are not able to alter entire shifts due to an irregular social life schedule. We appreciate the need to connect with peers, colleagues, and friends, we’d just rather you do it in your regular off time hours.
Incidentally, I do recall that your resume looked great and I was looking forward to the interview process, but I didn’t have to ask a single question to know that you were not a good fit for Food King Grocery. All the best success in your employment endeavors, Miss Stacey S.
