When Tara threw the plate full of food on the breakfast table, Matt knew his wife was upset. Problem was, he had no idea why.
“Whoa. What’s that all about? You mad at me?” Matt asked.
“Not really.”
Whenever Matt heard that phrase, it was a sure sign she was angry, only she wasn’t going to let him know why because he should already know why.
“What’d I do now?”
“Did you have to go out with her?” Tara asked.
Matt looked at his food, squinted, and said, “What are you talking about? Who’s her? Who am I supposed to have gone out with?”
“You know very well who I’m talking about. I woke you up in the middle of the night and told you about it.”
“I am not responsible for anything I say or do when you wake me up.”
“You still went out with her though,” Tara said. “I’m not good enough for you?”
“Did this happen in your dream?”
“Yes, of course, in my dream,” said Tara. “You left me and went on those fancy dates with her. Went dancing even. You’ve never taken me dancing. I caught on to you about a month into it. Then I confronted you both right there in the restaurant.”
“Still in your dreams?”
“Why is that so difficult for you to accept? Yes, in my dream.”
Matt considered saying a dozen things, most of which would just set her off, but he really wanted a peaceful day. He wasn’t going to argue about someone else’s dream, but she wasn’t letting it go.
“Do you love her?”
“Nope. Never have. Never will,” Matt said, taking a bite of eggs.
“Are you going to stop seeing her then?”
“Of course. What kind of a question is that? You’re the only girl of my dreams, Babe. Had your coffee yet?” Matt asked.
“No, but I’ll start the pot before I hop into the shower. Why do you ask?”

Amazed at how the hubby handled the situation. He recognized the trap and wisely avoided it. Boy, I wish I could do that! Thanks
😂 Dreams can be very realistic. I have had such dreams where I wake up during the night wondering where am I and why this is happening! I understand where Tara is coming from.
