we almost always leave a tip - but it is based on their service, kindness, etc. However, like the "old" days, we leave the tip on the table as we are not sure how those tips get diveded up electronically and to whom they actually end up going to. good story - one to which I relate to! God bless!
That was kind. I always tip regardless these young people depend on these tips to get them through the week. Besides if you are mean and nasty and punch in No no no on that machine they could put poison or just about anything in your food. It pays to be kind. I see a lot of No Nos in the ER because people aren't nice and polite.
Poison in your food, Naomi? You've been watching too many Bond movies! Granted, you may not get the best service if you don't tip prior to ordering, but then again, you may.
Don't ya love it when someone's idea of societal niceties is changed? (After all, the "tip" might be added to a communal tip jar where all the service staff--cooks to cashiers--share in the creation of that delicious meal and in the tips.)
A restaurant I am no longer going to changed it from paying at the cashier to having the waiter stand by as you enter in your tip (or no tip) information. It went from leisurely to slight intimidation, in my opinion.
