A widow's love of her husband restored. Amazing what a little bit of secrecy by the breadwinner can do when it comes to preparing a nest egg for one's family.

Reminiscent of my dad, now 20 years at rest in our Lord.

It took almost the entire three years allowed to close his estate because, born during the Great Depression, he and my mom saved EVERYTHING.

The crazy thing was, by the time we sorted through the vast quantities of pretty much worthless stuff, there was almost a quarter million dollars to distribute among six kids.

Who could've figured that's how his life would end, given how frugally he lived, working many years at his regular job as a low level processing engineer, then working weekends at a fruit stand, just so he put the not quite salable fruit and veggies on the table to keep us all fed?

Here's to all the dads, moms and others who do what they can, in the best way they know how, to provide for their loved ones after they're gone.

We miss you, too!

Great story!

I recall that at the time, Gary. Didn't know what the final outcome was. Thanks for sharing.

Wow. So we find out this guy is a real a$$ for doing that, but we don't get to find out why? I hate this guy now.
